Meet husband and wife team, Shad Davis and Traci Phan Davis. Shad is a seasoned chef by trade and a highly experienced restaurant consultant. He has talented ability to foresee the future dining trends in a constantly evolving metropolitan city such as Los Angeles. Traci is a long-time lover of food and restaurants. With 20 years of corporate experience and 39 years of palette experience, she saw a void in the market and decided to build her concept around her favorite pastime and favorite food.
Traci Phan-Davis
Traci, a former business exec turned restaurateur, embodies the Asian American food experience in lifestyle and culture. A first-generation Vietnamese American from Houston, she grew up in a family where food was bonding. Learning recipes from her mom and aunt, she cherished meals filled with lively conversations. As her career flourished, so did her foodie spirit, leading to obsessive recipe experiments and research. One late-night session sparked her vision: a fast-casual Vietnamese concept.
Shad Davis
She shared the idea with her husband Shad, a seasoned chef and accomplished restaurant consultant behind many popular concepts including the “Counter Burger” franchise. Recognizing the void, he worked closely with Traci to create her vision of the food, storefront design and operation built to scale. Together they bootstrapped the first location in Mar Vista, taking the leap just as a global pandemic was exploding.

Pending doom turned into thriving success as the restaurant has become a popular fixture with the neighborhood, foodies, media and even celebrities who love the customizable menu, Vietnamese flavors, healthy ingredients and welcoming atmosphere that is their baby “Mỹ Lai.”
